HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Well it sure has been several months since I have posted on my blog. The last time as you probably know was back in May, right before I had my third back surgery. It has been a rough road to recovery & a long one at that. I'm still not completely healed &  have a ways to go, still in much pain, but getting better.

I hope Y'all had a wonderful summer, a very Merry Christmas & a safe  & Happy New Year Eves.

My craft room still isn't all set up, but have been trying slowly to get it together. So in the future I will be posting my progress of how it will look.

My youngest son Steven got married in September & it sure was a beautiful wedding. I designed & made all the wedding invitations. When everything was done including the wedding, I was exhausted & needed a good rest. LOL
This week I will be posting pics of the invitations & their wedding pic.

Lately, I have been busy crocheting & also working on a quilt for my master bedroom.
I am trying so hard to get back into crafting, because for the past several months I had no interest in anything. Probably if it wasn't for Steven getting married & for me offering to make the invitations, I wouldn't of made anything till recently. So that was a good thing to get me motivated.
Then one  day I woke up & realized I missed crafting. Crafting keeps me sane.

So, I hope Y'all will check back daily to see what I am making for the New Year & that you haven't given up on me.

Stop by real soon to see what is new.

May God Bless Y'all.
Hugs,
Dee

Tomorrow Is The Big Day

Tomorrow is my surgery day, so I will be away from my blog for awhile. I hope that you will check back in about a week to see if I have posted anything.
I know that you all are out there lerking at my blog, but still no comments. What's up with that?
I appreciate any feedback that I receive, so I will know what you would like to see on my blog in the near future.
So come on, please leave me your comments. Give me some ideas of what I should be posting. I want to post things that you all want to see & learn about. I am still learning about this blogging stuff.
Take care & have a wonderful & blessed day.

My News

Hello,
I thought that I would be able to get a couple more cards done before I had my surgery.
But with all this extra testing & things that I have to get done around the house, there just isn't enough time, sorry.
Plus with all this pain, it makes it hard for me. I have one more day at home, then bright & early Thursday morning, I will be headed to the hospital  which is over 2 hours away from my here. Then here I go again.
Hopefully, I will only be in the hospital for a week or less this time. I hope that this is true, then I can come home & get better where I'd rather be.
I've noticed though that I haven't had any comments recently of what I have posted.
I am hoping when I get better, can craft again & post what I made, you all will start commenting.
I love to get comments so please start leaving them when you look over my blog, it will be greatly appreciated.
That way, I will know what you would like to see here on my blog.
So until after I come back home from my surgery, have wonderful & blessed days.
Hugs,
Dee

Happy Mothers Day To All

Hope that all you ladies out there are having a wonderful Mothers Day.
I have to run out for a few things & for more meds for Tom, then when I get back I want to get a little cleaning done.

I have been praying that my little granddaughters, my DIL & oldest son will come & see me. I haven't seen my granddaughters since Christmas. I miss them so much.
I made these cards yesterday to give to both my DIL's plus  an extra one. I forgot to take a pic of the first card before I signed it.
Hope you will like them.
Have a wonderful & blessed day.

Another Step To My New Craft Room

Hello Everyone,

Sorry that I haven't posted for a few days, my DH has been keeping me busy & it isn't easy when I have to deal with my own pain.
I just haven't been in the mood for any crafting, so I am very sorry for no new card.
In place of a new design I have posted a new area in my craft room.

This is where I am keeping my chipboard  letters, which is in the drawers on top.
I have my 2 cuttle bug machines & some ribbon.
In the bottom area, going left to right, first top left cubby are some of my clear stamps from Anna Griffin & Hero Arts, etc.
Next pink canvas drawer holds some containers of silk flowers
Next cream drawer holds unfinished wooden items for the holidays

Next row down from left, that one is embossing folders & Spellbinders folders.
Next the cream drawer holds  some white card stock & assorted 8x8 paper card stock pads
Next pink drawer holds some more wooden things to make &  a can of  sealer from Folk Art & a can of Aleenes Tacky spray
Below on the last row is a drawer container that holds more card stock & the same in next cubby.
The last cubby holds sticker folders & Creating Keepsakes books.

Hope you enjoyed the little tour of this section of my craft room.
Until the next time, hope you all have a wonderful & blessed day.

Hugs,
Dee

What Has Been Going On With Me

Hello Everybody,
Boy, have I had one heck of a few days. My DH has been very sick since last week, which I had mentioned before  & yesterday was  well, he had me going crazy. Finally late morning today, he gave in to go to the ER. I wasn't surprised when the doc said that he had pneumonia again. He has such trouble breathing & so he had a breathing treatment, oxygen, antibiotic IV fluids, etc, you get the pic. They asked him to stay overnight, but of course he wanted to go home. I was very surprised that we were only at the ER for 4 hours, since that place was really hopping like always.

On top of all this, my computer gave me problems starting last night & today I lost all my documents & pics that I had downloaded. I have some things backed up on my separate backup system, but do you think I can find the ac plug to hook it backup to my computer, NOT. So I am starting from scratch.

I had planned on posting a new card, but it has to wait. I am hoping that it will be tomorrow.
I'll tell you, my life is never ever dull & sometimes I wish it was. I could really use a break.

I really hope that I am not depressing anyone, cause that's the last thing I would want to do.
I just wanted to let you all know what is going on, why I haven't posted something new & I guess to show others that they are not alone out there, when they have problems too.
God Bless Everyone who is going through their trials & tribulations.

Until tomorrow, I hope that you will have a wonderful & blessed day.
Hugs,
Dee

The Mystery Birthday Card

Hello to you & how was your weekend?
I mostly rested & relaxed. The past week was exhausting trying to take care of my DH while he was sick with the flu. I'm not in the greatest shape so it can be difficult for me to take good care of someone that is sick, but I did try.

Today,

I thought that I would share all my beautiful handmade birthday cards with all my friends which I got last week.
Aren't they pretty & so wonderful? Some of them came from my friends at  the AC Moore forum.

There is a little mystery with one of the cards that I received from someone. The card has a mason jar with a bumble bee & she also used some flower soft at the bottom. I just love that stuff & some day I am going to get some for me.
It wasn't signed, but it came with a little gift set of stamps & a ink pad. It  was so thoughtful, but I would really like to know who sent the card & gift to me.
If this person  reads my blog, I would be so grateful if you could let me know who you are

Until tomorrow, hope that you have a wonderful & blessed day.
Hugs,
Dee

Just wanted to let you know if you stopped by that I won't be posting Saturday & Sunday, I'm just taking a couple of days off. My husband has been sick for the past 4 days & he has been keeping me busy, I'm exhausted.
I'll be back posting on Monday, hope you'll stop by then.
Until then have a wonderful & blessed day.

Gathered Desk Skirt

Happy Friday to everybody.

Today I finished the skirt cover up for my old antique desk. This desk is my grandma's & is over 100 years old. I think that it is mahogany wood, but I'm not sure. This poor piece of  furniture has gotten so beat up over the years, but it has served many purposes & I don't want to give it up.
This is why I wanted to make a skirt cover up so it would look a little nicer in my craft room & the material matches the curtains that I made.
Before I give you my supplie list, I wanted to explain about Velcro aka hook & loop.
For the adv id users this isn't new to you, but for anyone that has never used this product I thought it would be nice to explain a little info about this product.
There are so many different kinds of hook & loop from the sew on kind to the stick which I used for my project.
Hook & loop can be very pricey & when I need a lot of it, I measure the length then when I buy the product I only get half as many yards as I need.
See what I do is I cut the product length wise that way I will get double the amount. When you buy hook & loop, you have to buy the yardage you need of the hook side & then the same amount for the loop side.
So, if for example it cost $2.69 per yard, it will cost you $2.69 for a yard of the hook side & another $2.69 for a yard of loop side. This is why I buy half of what I really need & cut the lengths in half to save money.
Just a little tip in case you haven't done the same thing.
Oh yes also, the hook side is the soft fuzzy side & the loop side is as it says the loopy side.

Supplies I used;
4 yards of large cotton check material by Moda
White cotton thread by Melrose
Hook & Loop Stick On kind,1 1/4 yards ( remember I only purchased half of what I needed to save money & cut length wise to end up with right amount)
My Singer Futura sewing/embroidery machine
My Kenmore serger (which I used to piece  & finish off the sections  of the skirt together)

Well I hope that you enjoyed another step in getting my craft room ready.

Remember, I love getting comments & thanks to all that left me the recent ones. When getting all your comments, it encourages  me to craft & post more.

I hope that you had a wonderful & blessed day.
Hugs, Dee

Sympathy Card

How is everybody doing today?
Yesterday was my birthday & I turned 58 years old. I want to thank everyone on Facebook for all my birthday wishes & a thank you to everyone for all the beautiful birthday cards that I received this week.

This morning I watched my 17 month old Grandson, for a few hours & he is always so good for me. Derek  is so funny & every time he hears music on the TV or radio, he loves to shake his little butt, so cute. We say that he is dancing, LOL.

Today, I designed a sympathy card for one of my neighbors that lost his mom. He expected it, cause she was 94 & has been very ill for such a long time. Even though they knew, it still is very hard to deal with. I hope that this card helps them with their grief.

Supplies used were,
White card stock
Glitter paper pack from DCWV
Stickles glitter (colors icing & star dust)
Anna Griffin watercolor pencils
Cricut Expression using the Christmas Noel cart for the angel
Aleene's white tacky glue
Pop dots
Glue Glider Pro adhesive
Grograin ribbon by American Crafts

I love getting comments, so please leave as many  comments or questions that you would like. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them.
Hope that you had a wonderful & blessed day.

Hugs,
Dee

Another Step To My New Craft Room

Hello There,
The weather has been absolutely beautiful, I love being outside seeing everything blooming. I love this time of year.

I dropped off the card  today at the asisstant living facility when I went to visit my friend. The owner just loved the card & asked me if it was alright to display it where everybody could see. I said sure, it was for all the staff to enjoy. She also said that she wanted all the people that live there to see it, too.
Dosen't it make you feel good when you make a card,  it is so greatly appreciated, to the one that you had made it for, it cheers that person or persons up. Isn't that a wonderful feeling, I sure feel that way, what about you?

So, here is the next step to the designing of my craft room. I have only one window, but thank goodness the room is very bright. I wanted to make a curtain, that would give me some privacy cause its in front of the house near the road.
But I still didn't want to block the light & sunshine. I decided to make a light weight swag  for the top & a sheer tier on the bottom.
I love checks since they work well in a country decor & that's me, I'm a country girl at heart.
Don't you think that the curtains came out well & are just the right decor for my girly craft room?
In the one pic you will see some hook & loop, that will be for another project in the room, but using the same check material.

Supplies Used were,
Simplicity Home Decor pattern
4 yards of large checked cotton material from Moda
2 1/2  yards eyelet cotton lace trim
3 1/2 yards cotton sheer material from Moda
White cotton thread from Melrose which I purchased from HSN (wonderful thread to sew with)

Tell me what you think, do you like my idea or not? I would really like to hear your opinions, positive or negative opinions.
Everybody has different taste in decor & that's great, but tell me how if it was your room, what type of curtain would you had made?
Or if you would of just used some kind of shade or blinds.

I'm really curious about how you would of done the window, if it was your room.
I love comments & would really love to hear from you.

I hope you had a wonderful & blessed day.
Hugs,
Dee

Thank You Card

Hey There & How Is Everybody Today?

I wanted to make a special thank you card for a bunch of great caretakers, who take care of the elderly in an Asissantant Living Facility.

I try to go there every 2 weeks to visit a good friend of mine & how I enjoy talking to the other elderly residents there. They make me laugh, I learn things that I didn't know & I have such a wonderful day when I visit.
So I thought that I would make this special card for the owner of the place & for also the nurses & everybody else that works & takes care of the residents. They all are so kind & giving.
I have heard so many horror stories about nursing homes & asisstant living places, but I have to say that this one is far the best that I have ever seen.
The lady that I am friends with is so very  happy there. She goes to church every sunday, they take her out to lunches, dancing, she has a crafting time & so many other things to keep their residents active & feeling young & happy. In the summer they even have barbecues & invite the families to participate, how nice.
I always thought that visiting a facility like this would be so depressing, but this one isn't. The facility is somewhat old, but is very well kept & very clean.
I am so grateful that my friend is living in such a wonderful place for the last years of her life.

Supplies Used:
White Cardstock
Anna Griffin Designer Mat paper
Fiskars Lace Edge Punch
Inkadinkadoo Sentiment Clear Stamp
Ranger Distress Ink (color broken china)
Quilling Paper & Quilling Tool
Pop Dots
Aleene's White Tacky Glue
Glitter Markers
Offray 3/16'' Satin Picot Ribbon
Bling ( blue oval stone)
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Nestabillities ( oval & rectangle die cuts)

I love getting comments, so please, please leave as many as you would like.
Until tomorrow have a wonderful & blessed day.
Hugs,
Dee

The Second Stage of My New Craft Room

Hey All,

As I promised here is the second stage of my new craft room. I wanted to show you how the walls look after they were painted & before all the furniture & stuff gets moved in.
I am really very happy with the color & it is so very calming. I am so lucky to have this room in our home, because in the afternoon the sun comes in so bright. I will have the best of both worlds, when I need to getaway to be calm to craft & for the sunny afternoons to be energized into thinking up new designs.
What do you think of the color?
I love your comments, so please leave as many as you'd like to.

And don't forget about the Cricut Anniversary Expression 2 giveaway tonight with Everyday Cricut.
Did you leave your comments yet?

Until tomorrow, I hope that you have a wonderful & blessed day.

Quilled Thinking Of You Card

HAPPY EASTER To Everybody,
I hope that you had a wonderful holiday.

I didn't post my card yesterday, because we were at church for a special service. My son Steven was baptised, had his first holy communion & his confirmation all in one evening. It was a beautiful service, with a candle light vigil. I am so proud of him. Later in the week I will post a pic of him being baptised.

Now for the card, I embossed the card stock on the front, punched a scallop edge at the bottom. I also used a spellbinders dye for  the ovals, the hummingbird & flowers are quilled. It was a fun card to make & I love using Anna Griffin card stock.

Supplies I used:
White card stock
Anna Griffin Designer card stock
Martha Stewart edge punch
Cuttle bug Embossing Folder ( a bird & vine theme)
Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Ovals
Quilling Paper w/ a quilling tool & white glue
Quilled Rose is from Quilled Creations
Ribbon by Offray 3/16''
Pop Dots
Thinking of You Stamp From The Pink Stamper Collection

Hope everyone enjoyed this card as much as I liked making it.
I love comments, so please leave me as many as you like.
Until tomorrow, I hope that you had a wonderful & blessed Day

My Journey Into The Making Of My New Craftroom

And A Big Hello Yo You,
I would like to share my journey in the making of my new craft room.
It was great to find out that I wouldn't have to do my crafting in the corner of my master bedroom anymore.
Now, I would actually have space to spread out & craft. For the past 3 years I  worked on a snack table & that wasn't fun, but it was better than nothing.
The pics that I am posting today are of  what the room looked like before it was painted.

We are using Glidden satin paint with primer & the color is Smokey Mauve.

The room is a nice size, so I can have a paper crafting  area & also a sewing area.
The closet isn't that big, but will do.

Tomorrow, I will be posting a new card that I made, with the supplies that I used.
Until then, I hope that you will be checking in each day to see what is new & to continue my craft room journey.
Hope you will join me in the fun
I love comments, so please go ahead a leave as many as you like.
Hope that you have a wonderful & blessed day.
Hugs,
Dee

WHEN I GOT DONE DOING THE DESIGN, HONESTLY I REALLY DIDN'T  LIKE THE COLORS TOGETHER
ONE NICE THING THOUGH, NO MATTER WHAT COLORS YOU USE, USING  2 YARNS TOGETHER IT WILL LOOK AS IF IT TWISTS. WHICH CAN BE VERY NICE.
THEY REALLY AREN'T MY FAVORITE COLORS, BUT I ONLY HAD A LITTLE BIT LEFT & I THOUGHT THIS DESIGN WOULD BE A GOOD WAY TO USE THE YARN UP.
MAYBE, IN THE FUTURE I WILL TRY MY DESIGN AGAIN & USE 2 DIFFERENT COLORS THAT I REALLY LIKE.
I HOPE THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT WILL TRY MY DESIGN & MAKE ONE IN THE COLORS THAT THEY LIKE. IT WOULD BE SO NICE TO SEE YOUR WORK.

SUPPLIES THAT I USED:
RED HEART WORSTED WEIGHT YARN COLORS DK. GREEN & GOLD(SMALL AMOUNT, I ACTUALLY HAD ONLY A FEW YARDS OF EACH)
G CROCHET HOOK

ROW 2-  SLIP STITCH OVER TO SPACE  BETWEEN CHAIN 4 & FIRST TRIPLE CROCHET OF PREVIOUS ROW.
CHAIN 4 & TRIPLE CROCHET IN SAME SPACE. CONTINUE AROUND DOING 2 TRIPLE CROCHET IN EACH SPACE AROUND, SLIP STITCH IN TOP OF CHAIN 4.

ROW 3-  REPEAT ROW 2

ROW 4- CHAIN 1, SINGLE CROCHET IN STITCH IN BACK LOOP ONLY AROUND, SLIP STITCH IN TOP OF CHAIN 1, FASTEN OFF GREEN YARN.

UPDATE

HELLO EVERYBODY, I WILL BE BACK TO BLOGGING IN A DAY OR TWO.
I PLAN ON POSTING THE LAST 2 DISHCLOTHES & INSTRUCTIONS.
ALSO, I WILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT I HAVE PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE.
I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON A PROJECT, WHICH I WILL BE SHARING WITH YOU.
THE REASON I HAVE BEEN MIA FOR A FEW WEEKS, IS BECAUSE I HAVE HAD SERIOUS PAIN WITH MY BACK. VERY SOON I WILL BE GETTING MY 3RD BACK SURGERY & I AM HOPING THAT IT WILL TAKE AWAY SOME OF MY PAIN. I HAVE ACCEPTED THE FACT THAT I WILL ALWAYS HAVE PAIN, BUT IF THE DOC CAN TAKE SOME PAIN AWAY BY FIXING WHAT HE HAS SAID, THAT I HAVE 3 BROKEN SCREWS IN MY BACK, THAT WOULD BE A BLESSING.
OVER THE YEARS I HAVE LIVED WITH PAIN IN MY BACK & HAVE LEARNED TO ACCEPT IT, BUT IF THIS SURGERY WILL KEEP ME OUT OF A WHEEL CHAIR, I WILL BE VERY GRATEFUL.
SO, I HOPE THAT YOU WILL CHECK BACK IN A DAY OR TWO.
COME & JOIN IN MY JOURNEY OF CRAFTING. WE WILL HAVE FUN ON THE WAY.
SEE YOU THEN.
I HOPE THAT YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL & BLESSED DAY.
HUGS,
DEE

SORRY, I HAVE BEEN MIA

SORRY I HAVE BEEN MIA, SINCE FEBRUARY. I HAVE BEEN IN SERIOUS PAIN WITH MY BACK & LEG. I HAVE GONE THROUGH SEVERAL TESTS & NOW JUST WAITING ON THE DOC TO SCHEDULE, MY THIRD & LAST SURGERY ON MY BACK, I HOPE.
THE DOC HAS TO REPLACE 3 BROKEN SCREWS & A ROD.

ANYWAY, I AM SORRY THAT I NEVER POSTED THE LAST 2 DISH CLOTHES. THEY HAVE BEEN MADE SINCE LAST MONTH. ONE IS A DESIGN FROM MAGGIE  & THE OTHER IS ONE OF MY ORIGINAL DESIGNS.

I WILL POST THEM IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS, SO PLACE HANG IN THERE.
IF YOU HAVE BEEN CHECKING MY BLOG, THANK YOU & I PROMISE THERE WILL BE NEW IDEAS COMING VERY SOON.

THEN I ALSO WILL TELL YOU WHAT ELSE I HAVE BEEN UP TO HERE AT MY HOME.

I HOPE Y'ALL HAVE A BLESSED & WONDERFUL DAY.

MY CRAZY DAY

HOW IS EVERYBODY DOING TODAY?
BOY DID I HAVE A CRAZY DAY.
FIRST  MY FUTURE DIL ASKED ME IF I WOULD GO WITH HER TO THE DENTIST, SO I COULD WATCH THE BABY & I SAID OF COURSE I WOULD.
PLUS IT GIVES ME QUALITY TIME WITH MY GRANDSON.
DEREK NOT FEELING VERY GOOD & NOT SURE WHY HE IS FEELING THIS WAY

THESE ARE PICS BEFORE THE RASH CAME OUT
SHE HAD TOLD ME THAT HE BROKE OUT IN A RASH AT 3 AM & GOT HIS FEVER BACK. THE POOR LITTLE GUY HAS BEEN FIGHTING THIS FEVER SINCE SAT. NIGHT.
MY SON STEVEN & HIS FIANCE BARB TOOK DEREK TO THE ER SAT. NIGHT & THEY WERE TOLD THAT HE HAD A LITTLE COLD, SO HE WAS PUT ON AMOXICYLIN.
BY THE TIME WE GOT TO THE ER TODAY HIS RASH WAS ALL OVER HIS LITTLE BODY WHICH LOOKED LIKE TINY MEASLES.
SO THE CONCLUSION IS EITHER DEREK IS ALLERGIC TO AMOXICYLIN OR HE HAS WHAT IS CALLED ROSYOLA.( I'M NOT SURE IF I AM SPELLING IT RIGHT )
HE HAS THE RASH LIKE TINY MEASLES, SWALLON LYMPH NODES BEHIND HIS EARS & SWALLON EYES WHICH IS  SOME SYMPTONS OF ROSYOLA.
BUT THE DOC TOLD MY DIL TO TAKE HIM OFF THE AMOXICYLIN, JUST TO BE SURE.
I HAVEN'T HEARD AN UPDATE YET, BUT I REALLY HOPE BY TOMORROW THAT OUR LITTLE ONE WILL BE MUCH BETTER

SORRY FOR NO DISHCLOTH DESIGN, BUT WITH ALL THAT WENT ON TODAY, I FELT THAT MY DARLING LITTLE GRANDSON WAS MORE IMPORTANT.

DIFFENTLY TOMORROW I WILL POST # 11 & MY FIRST HINT OF WHAT I WILL BE DOING AFTER ALL THE DISHCLOTHES ARE FINISHED.

I HOPE Y'ALL HAD A WONDERFUL & BLESSED DAY.

ONE MORE THING, I HAVEN'T HAD ANY COMMENTS FROM TERRIE OR MARIE & I'M WORRIED ABOUT THEM.
HOPE Y'ALL ARE DOING GOOD & I HEAR FROM YOU BOTH REAL SOON.

DEE
